As of recently, I have been going through a lot of old archives to find something. I guess it was less of a "sound" and more of finding "myself". Fast forward to this incredible clash of symphonies created by the duo Tritonal, mixed by Arty back in 2010 I believe. I'm terrible with words, so have an earful - perhaps you may find something as well.

Happy New Year to all who venture over. Let's begin with a great song from the past. My first recollection of this was back on Tiesto's compilation disc: ISOS 6 (In Search Of A Sunrise 6) sometime in the year of 2009.

The original was always a personal favourite as I would always use that buzz saw synth when making tracks on fruityloops (which I plan on getting back into. Miss the studio life).

Deep In My Heart

A beautiful recording from Denis Kenzo feat the vocals of Sveta B. This was previously the tune of the week on A State Of Trance (683).

 

Melodic breaks followed by euphoric reverbed guitar rifts really set this one apart from many others.

I myself enjoy a tune which can pick you up, calm you down and then push that intensity back up again. Excellent background driving music!

Zebra (Nuera Remix)

Out of the vault comes a fairly older, yet mind bending remix from Nuera.

Joe Garrett (born 24 October 1986), better known by his stage name Temple One, is an English trance DJ and music producer with a string of successful releases on Enhanced Music, Armada Music and Flashover Recordings.

Temple One's "Zebra" combines a slow progression of synths and pop kicks to a climax of big room sound. Nuera took an already astounding song and turned it into his very own example of perfection.

Released back on 03/21/2011 via Enhanced Recordings, Zebra is still going strong. This is the true sound of Trance Energy.

Definitely a personal fave. Keep on spinnin'

Symfo

Another forgotten relic broughten back for recognition. Rank 1's orchestrated masterpiece - Symfo!

Rank 1 is a Dutch trance group, formed in the Netherlands in 1997. Widely regarded as one of the originators of the Dutch trance sound, the group have produced a number of dancefloor hits since their conception. Although the two members of the group (Benno De Goeij and Piet Bervoets) had worked together before, Rank 1 (a name first used in 1999) was their first project with commercial success.

Let It Go (Frozen)

So Disney asked Armin to create a remix of Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" which happened to be the hit single from the movie Frozen.

Now, I think it was pretty decent, especially since I was able to hear it live when Armin dropped it at Metro Convention Centre a week and a half ago. However, the vocals are my main concern. He should have used more... As for the melody... well..

Cafe Del Mar - Energy 52 Remix Compilation + Ibiza

A quick excerpt on Ibiza + Cafe Del Mar: 

The Café del Mar is perhaps most known around the world for its chill-out music compilations. It's located in Ibiza - an island in the Mediterranean Sea, 79 kilometres off the coast of the city of Valencia, in eastern Spain. The songs are described as balearic ambient, easy listening music.



The collections of the music played at the café were first sold on cassette at the end of the 1980s. In 1994, the first official “Café del Mar” CD was released, which included works by world-renowned artists. Following the great success of the first release, a total of 19 volumes of the main compilation series have been published.

Ibiza is considered to be a popular tourist destination, especially due to its legendary and at times riotous nightlife centred around two areas: Ibiza Town, the island's capital on the southern shore and Sant Antoni to the West.

Ibiza Town 

Well-known nightclubs are Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Eden, Es Paradís, Underground, Sankeys and DC10. During the summer, the top producers and DJs in dance come to the island and play at the various clubs, in between touring to other international destinations. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island.

Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs within the house, trance and techno genres of electronic dance music. The city has achieved renown worldwide fame as a cultural center for house and trance in particular, with its name often being used as a partial metonym for the particular flavor of electronic music originating there, much like Goa in India.

Energy 52 was a project comprising Paul Schmitz-Moormann and Harald Blüchel. The 1993 track "Café del Mar" became one of the most heard trance songs in the world; its dozens of remixes have appeared on hundreds of compilation albums. In April 2011, the song was voted number one by BBC Radio 1 listeners in Pete Tong's Top 20 Dance Tracks of the last 20 years.
